We have now officially brought online our third Global Distribution System (GDS)—Sabre!
Used by all the major online travel sites, GDSs are computer systems that handle travel reservation information and are the foundation for the majority of travel bookings conducted today.
Rovia has already connected to Amadeus and Apollo/Worldspan, which are used by Expedia, Orbitz, Hotwire, Priceline, and others. The addition of Sabre is a major one as it is the foundation for the Travelocity engine and processes the majority of travel bookings in the U.S..
This is incredibly exciting because Rovia is now the ONLY online travel company utilizing three Global Distribution Systems! It dramatically increases the value of your LTC site, which (among other things) now boasts over 96,000 hotels available for sale.
